A wet morning and plenty to do, we need supplies, we are meeting Ross Myles as we have hounds that are sold going to the UK, we have five hounds that are retired going to the retirement home. We will do a swap around with the hounds that are in the kennels and owing to the weather there will be no hunting or galloping.

Thursday 12th August:

A nice but cold day, we need supplies, we need a trip to the supermarket for the pups food, we need fish so it’s going to be long day for me. We will hunt and gallop a few dogs, at the kennels we will change beds and feed and clean the kennels.

Friday 13th August:

A lovely morning and yesterday was the day of all days the 151 van broke down a water pipe burst at my house. I left the house at 4.30am yesterday and got back at 10 o’clock last night. The plans today is doing the last of the preparation work for schooling next week. Padgie and Mirus get their second covid injection today and I still have fish to get today. We also have a brood having pups to Out Of Range so far she’s had nine and all going well.

Saturday 14th August:

Were doing Saturdays journal on Sunday morning as it has definitely been one of those weeks. Im down to one van and I’m desperate for my mechanic to come back from Poland. Our 2015 van broke down on the outskirts of Rathkeale on Thursday. We got it to a garage on Thursday night in Tipperary. It needs an alternator, a new turbo and we think the engine is ok. I will have to update the van to at least a 2019 with the miles we’re doing. It will have to be a low mileage van and not my usual bargain (something cheap with high mileage). At the kennels the day went well. We collected supplies, gave dogs flea tablets, monitored pups, made boxes and beds for mothers and pups.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE RUNNER: NORMANSLAND FLYER AT CRAYFORD.

Sunday 15th August:

Its an overcast morning and a typical Sunday. At 6am this morning Ross Myles delivered our sold hounds to Durham Services. At the kennels we will cook, clean, feed and let hounds out of kennels. We will also catch up with paperwork and monitor the new pups. Its Newcastles first game of the new season. Our main priority is to survive again. Were on the TV at 2pm and a point would be a great result.
