Wednesday 31st July:

The first job on Wednesday was my weekly trip to the vets. I took broods to Richard Cuddys to be mated. At the kennels we prepared hounds for schooling, did a tidy up around the yard. The day went well.

Thursday 1st August:

We needed food for pups from the supermarket. We had to feed up early as the main job of the day was trialing at Kilkenny. We got a delivery of bagged dog food. We made boxes and beds for mothers and pups. Newcastle United started getting busy in the transfer window.

Friday 2nd August:

The first job on Friday morning was to update the dogs for sale page with our trials from Kilkenny. We needed all our waste away. We had to get passport work done. We got the last of the worming and nail trimming on baby pups done. We also did our weekly swap around with small pups, dogs in the rearing paddocks and kennel dogs. We also collected meat which is very short in Southern Ireland. Swift Vicki who lives in the house with me was 14 today. She has the freedom of Ireland and will be the fittest 14 year old retired lady I have ever seen. She is a picky eater and she will only eat from my fridge. Her favourite treats are tins of corned beef, red salmon and spam. She isn’t an ounce overweight. She goes into the fields next door and still chases rabbits. She never catches them but doesn’t give up chasing.

Saturday 3rd August:

The first job was to collect more meat which is very short in Southern Ireland. We are just getting enough to keep us going. Thankfully we have loads of chicken, tripe and fish. We have update the website completely and we will give it a tidy. The soccer season starts in the lower divisions today with the first qualifying round of the FA Cup. I’ll watch that in the afternoon and we’ll give the whole place a tidy.
