WEEK STARTING MONDAY 24TH OF MAY

Monday 24th May:

We are doing Mondays journal on Tuesday morning as yesterday was non stop we had to be at Shelbourne Park early for our trials and handslips but we were still there at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon. We needed food for pups and a tidy up before we left and a load of paper work also had to be done. The Premier League season is over and Steve Bruce has done as well as any manager under Mike Ashley and nothing will get better on till the club is sold unless Ashley has a big change of heart with the money. In the Greyhound Star Performance of the week we had Coney Wonderland at Nottingham and we reared and partly schooled Drahbeg Dandy but did not breed him his sire Confiedent Rankin is a sire we must use.

Tuesday 25th May:

A wet morning but the forecast says is good weather from now. We have updated the dog for sale page met Ross Myles with hounds that are sold going to the UK. At the kennels we have done beds, hunted pups and we will probably do the dump.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT TOWCESTER SWIFT ADDITION AND SWIFT COPE.

Wednesday 26th May:

Thursday 27th May:

We are doing a journal at lunch time today as we had a kennel inspection which is now normal and it is the 2nd one this year and it all went very well again. I have also been to the vets in Cashel with two hounds that have needed a operation. We needed supplies the big tidy up continues and my next job is to get hounds checked that are schooling.

Friday 28th May:

Were doing Fridays journal on Saturday morning as yesterday was a hectic day collecting fish from Killybegs, collecting hounds that had and operation. All went well and the hounds are back home. Swift Palmer is in season and she is going to be mated to Pestana. At the kennels there wasnt much we could do other than the everyday jobs of cooking, cleaning, feeding and letting hounds out of kennels as it rained all day.

Saturday 29th May:

The forecast is good but as we do the journal at 8am its overcast. We have packed the fish into the freezer as I got back late last night. The first job were doing after we get the journal done is giving the van a good wash. We have all our waste to go away. Were doing a massive swap around with hounds and pups. We also need food from the supermarket for pups. Phil Smith who used to live in England and is now living in Australia wrote a great article on the chase website.
