MONDAY THE 10TH OF JUNE

MONDAY THE 10TH OF JUNE

A nice day but we had heavy rain overnight, the main job today is trailing in Shelbourne park. I have been to red mills and I collected food for pups on the way back, we are leaving at 12 o’clock for Dublin and we will have to be all fed up before that, I posted off the paperwork as well and today is the start of a very busy week.

Tuesday 11th June:

I had paper bedding to collect as once again we had run out. At the kennels it was another day where we prepared hounds for schooling and we started doing a massive job on the gallop and cutting hedges.

Wednesday 12th June:

We continued on with the work on the gallop. I went to the vets to collect supplies and Swift Valor got his tonsils out. We needed all our waste away, food for pups and we started leveling the sand runs. We also changed beds everywhere.

Thursday 13th June:

We needed meat which was the first job of the day. We continued on with the work on the gallop. We did a swap around with pups, saplings and kennel dogs. We also continued on leveling out the sand runs.

Friday 14th June:

We needed more meat from Northern Ireland which is a days job to collect. We also got cooked chicken and tripe. At the kennels we continued on with the gallop. We had the freezer and the garages to tidy. The weather was hit and miss. Swift Vicki who lives in the house with me has found a new lease of life after her check up at the vets. She’s running around the place like a young sapling. A hound that we breed that is definitely worthy of a mention ‘Zoom Angel’ who was born in March 2019, won an A1 last night at, over 5 year old at Nottingham.

ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FIVE RUNNERS TONIGHT AT ROMFORD: FAB ROY, CHARLIE KNOWS AND SWIFT INDIGO. IN IRELAND AT LIMERICK: SWIFT JEROME. AT DUNDALK: QUARE ANGEL.

Saturday 15th June:

We have had heavy rain overnight again. As we do the journal at 8am its overcast. We will just about get all the work on the gallop finished today. If all goes well we have a brood in season that has to go to Richard Cuddys. We will get all our waste away. The most important job of the day is taking the photographs of our 23 saplings and putting them on to greyhound data.
