Monday 3rd February:
Were doing the journal on Sunday as Monday is going to be a hectic day. I have fish to collect and somebody will have to leave at 6am to collect it. John Nolan is coming to mark up dogs and earmark pups. We have to go to the vets to get passports for hounds that are going to the UK. We will continue on changing beds and worming hounds.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS TONIGHT AT NOTTINGHAM: SWIFT WHIFF AND SWIFT CONUNDRUM.
Tuesday 4th February:
A nice day and we are plenty to do we have broods in season going to Eden the Kid. We have Red Mills dog food coming and I have bagged milk to collect. We going to gallop and these are the main jobs to do today. Newcastle United are in the FA Cup tonight lets hope they win.
Wednesday 5th February:
A nice dry morning and a busy day we have hounds going to UK that are sold so we have to meet Ross Miles. We need a trip to the Cash and Carry in Dublin will do swap around with hounds, pups and saplings. We are up to date with all paper work unbelievable and the work this week is gone well. Newcastle United are in fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2006.
Thursday 6th February:
A nice dry day and we are plenty to do like every day. The main job of the day was trialling at Newbridge. We are changing all beds in the kennels, we also need food for pups. We cook, feed dogs, clean kennels and tidy up around. Thankfully the day has gone well.
Friday 7th February:
Were doing Fridays journal on Saturday morning as I day tripped to England yesterday to meet suppliers. At the kennels we got rid of our waste, took a dog to the vets for an x-ray who has a lump on its back hock the same size and the same place as Swift Hoffman had. Thankfully he is 100%. We did a swap around with hounds, did a major tidy up in the brood bitches kennels and hunted a few pups.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE EIGHT RUNNERS TONIGHT. AT ROMFORD MEGAPOPS, COLLSWOOD HAWK, SWIFT SABBATH, SWIFT LETTUCE AND SWIFT BULLET. AT SUNDERLAND BEDLINGTON BOY, OLD BUCK AND SWIFT GUARD.
Saturday 8th February:
No sign of the storm but it was a rough crossing yesterday afternoon coming back from England. The plans today are to gallop, collect supplies and do a tidy up. The new van is going into the garage this afternoon to get a bit of work done.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS LAST NIGHT SWIFT GUARD AT SUNDERLAND AND SWIFT LETTUCE AT ROMFORD. TONIGHT WE HAVE SEVEN RUNNERS. AT CRAYFORD SWIFT TARQUIN. AT HOVE FANTASTICAL, DRAHBEG DASH, SWIFT JAGUAR. AT SHEFFIELD CONEY BOOM BOOM AND CONEY CARMEL.
Sunday 9th February:
We have had wind and rain like never before. It was a miracle that the whole place wasn’t flooded. The drains couldn’t handle the water and the rearing paddocks have nearly washed away. Thankfully as we do the journal at 10am the rain stopped but we have heavy winds. It will be a day for cleaning, cooking, feeding and letting dogs out that are kennelled up. Just to make the day harder Padgie isn’t working.
