MONDAY THE 7TH OF APRIL
We had frost overnight but it has been another lovely day and as we do the journal at 4.30pm it is 18 degrees. The first job of the day was to collect meat. We did maintenance work and we changed all the beds in all the kennels. We continued on worming pups , cutting their nails and changing beds in the houses in the rearing paddocks and we now only have one paddock left to do if nothing goes wrong that will be done tomorrow. Like all Mondays the paperwork was posted off and all supplies we need were ordered. Newcastle united have a easy game tonight so we should get three points no problem. On the greyhound star British and Irish performance of the week we have two hounds on this weeks list Tiffield Tarquin at Perry Barr and Swift Pallas at Clonmel. The following article was taken from this weeks greyhound star
Only two hounds broke 28.00 in the opening round of the Laurels at Perry Barr on Saturday. They were in the same race and both were bred by Ian Greaves. Roy Peckham’s Tiffield Tarquin, a hound with 28.83 on his card at Towcester (500), reeled in Unanimous Leon with half a length to spare at the line in 27.94. It is actually 20 years ago that the Kildare based Geordie breeder last landed the event with Blonde Boss.
TUESDAY THE 8TH OF APRIL
Another lovely day but we had frost overnight again and the day has gone well. We have checked all the broods to see if their are in season and we have two more to mate. We got all our waste to the dump , the vans washed and a major tidy up in the front yard.
