Week starting on 6-May-2018

Saturday 12th May:
Its a nice bright morning and there is plenty to do. The main job today will be galloping and the endless job of collecting supplies continues. If the day goes well we will wash the vans.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT SWIFT DARTMOOR.

Friday 11th May:
The good weather has gone and rain with strong winds is forecast. As we do the journal at 8am all the outside jobs will have to be done in the next hour. It will be a day for cleaning, feeding, cooking and letting dogs out. We have waste to take to the dump and supplies to collect. We will probably finish off the VAT for the accountant.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT SWIFT MUZZLE AT HOVE.
TONIGHT WE HAVE SIX RUNNERS AT ROMFORD: COLLSWOOD HAWK, SWIFT TARQUIN, SWIFT DARTMOOR, JILLYPOPS, OH ARMANI AND RUBYS RAZZLE.

Thursday 10th May:
Its a nice bright morning and the forecast is good. We are completely tidied up and our small gardens in front of the main kennel block are all set with flowers. We will hunt a few pups, probably gallop a few dogs and with a bit of luck we will school at Kilkenny. In the soccer Newcastle got beat by Tottenham but it really didn't matter. It looks like Swansea, Stoke and West Brom will be the 3 relegated as Swansea need to win and turn a 10 goal difference around with Southampton. We need tyres on the vans which I will get today. All our young pups are between 5 and 7 weeks so they will have to be monitored closely.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE SIX RUNNERS AT HOVE TONIGHT:
IN THE CORAL REGENCY FINAL: RUBYS RASCAL AND CINCINNATI.
ALSO AT HOVE: SWIFT CASEY, REAVEYS RALPH, SWIFT MUZZLE AND OH YESYESYES.

Wednesday 9th May:
Its been a busy start to the day as we have already hunted pups with the forecast bad from 10am onwards. We need straw and as normal a whole lot more bits and pieces. The job of collecting supplies is endless. We have broods for testing at Michael Dunnes, were going to prepare the VAT for the accountant, we also need a trip to the vets. We have a heap of beds to change in beds and kennels. If we get everything done today were completely on top of the job.
No trials at Kilkenny today.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT SWIFT ASBOLOS. WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS TONIGHT.
AT SWINDON: SWIFT FIGGY AND SWIFT JESTER.

Tuesday 8th May:
Were doing Tuesdays journal on Wednesday morning as I never got a chance to do it yesterday. It was a very hectic day as we had to get rid of all our waste, the endless job of collecting supplies, veg, food for pups and a whole lot more bits and pieces.
Were doing a major tidy up. We hunted and galloped pups. The whole day was non stop.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FIVE RUNNERS TONIGHT:
AT SHEFFIELD: CONEY SABELLA AND DRAHBEG DELISH.
AT CRAYFORD: SWIFT ASBOLOS, REAVEYS RALPH AND REAVEYS RAIDER.

Monday 7th May:
Its a nice morning and even though its a bank holiday we have plenty to do. We are going to hunt and gallop, bath dogs for parasite prevention and do a huge tidy up. No doubt there will be bits and pieces to collect as normal. All young pups are doing well. The last couple of days we mated two more broods, Bramble Alicia to Razldazl George and Swift Hazel to Farloe Blitz. We have a few more to mate and that will be as many as we can rear.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS TONIGHT AT NOTTINGHAM: BUFFALO BLONDE AND AZZURRI GENESIS

Sunday 6th May:
We are back to normal with the website as we now have two computers. The main job today is updating the dog for sale page of our handslips from Kilkenny. Its a gorgeous morning but it is going to be a typical Sunday of cleaning, feeding and letting dogs out that are kennelled up. If all goes well I will collect some bits and pieces that we need for maintenance work and get myself some shopping. We end the website on a sad note, Willie Dunn, a small man from Kildangan who helped me when I first came to Ireland was buried yesterday after being in hospital for the last 12 months, RIP Willie from all the staff at Lughill Kennels.
THERE IS NO OPEN RACING IN THE UK.
