Week starting on 23-Sep-2018

Saturday 29th September:
A nice dry morning but at 6am it was very cold. The plan for the day is a major tidy of my house, collect a load of different bits and pieces, get rid of our waste straw, leader train pups and hopefully wash the vans. Whatever happens at 3pm today I will be watching Newcastle United and were desperate for 3 points.
Its the end of an era in Monasterevin as the small betting shop closes tonight which has been there for years. Its the start of another era as work starts on Monday on the redevelopment of the old mill into a hotel. On about the end of eras there are six businesses closing in Portarlington this week.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS LAST NIGHT: OH YESYESYES AND POINTLESS PRAISE.
TONIGHT WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT MONMORE: SWIFT FIGGY AND SWIFT KEEPER.

Friday 28th September:
Its a bit cooler this morning but it looks like its going to be a nice dry day. I have visitors coming next Friday. The plans for the next seven days are to get the grass cut in the rearing paddock for the last time this year. We will change the beds in all the kennels and houses. Get the garden tidied up and get the last bit of hedge cutting done. We will also give the place a major tidy. On top of this I have to school dogs, collect supplies so its going to be a busy time.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FIVE RUNNERS TONIGHT
AT ROMFORD: CINCINNATTI, SWIFT NIKOLAJ, OH YESYESYES, POINTLESS PRAISE AND OH NONONO.

Thursday 27th September:
Thursday was a disaster of a day. I had two retired broods escape. Thankfully we got them back after having a manhunt on as the area we live in is full of sheep, cows and racehorses. For living out in the sticks there is now a bit of traffic. I had a lad fall over and we thought he broke his ankle. I went to collect supplies with the van. I stalled the van and the engine management light came on so that's at the mechanic. Hopefully that's alright. Thursday was a day to forget.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER TONIGHT.
AT HOVE: SWIFT VICTORIA.

Wednesday 26th September:
On Wednesday the main job was schooling at Kilkenny. We also tidied the garages and freezer and done a bit of paperwork.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT CONEY KUCCINI.
TONIGHT WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT HARLOW: OLD FORT ELPASO.

Tuesday 25th September:
Were doing Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays journal all on Friday morning. Tuesday was a nice day weather wise. We did a bit more preparation work with the next lot of dogs to get them ready for schooling. We collected supplies, did a bit of tidying up and that was as much as we could do.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE THREE RUNNERS TONIGHT.
AT SHEFFIELD: CONEY BOOM BOOM, CONEY KUCCINI AND CONEY SABELLA.

Monday 24th September:
We got up to the first frost of the Autumn when we started at 6. Theres no sign of rain so it will make the job easy today. We have all the Monday jobs to do such as taking our waste away, collect food for pups and collect a whole lot of other bits and pieces. We will try and gallop a few dogs and get fully organised for another busy week.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FIVE RUNNERS TONIGHT.
AT DONCASTER WE HAVE SWIFT TARQUIN, SWIFT HANSEL, SWIFT DANIELLE AND SWIFT HENRY.
AT NOTTINGHAM SWIFT ALBA.

Sunday 23rd September:
A nice morning but a lot cooler with no rain or wind. Another busy week ahead. Today were changing beds which will take us all day. Other than cooking, cleaning and feeding there wont be much more we can do. Newcastle United got another point yesterday but were still in the bottom 3. Thankfully the Premiership has a lot of bad teams but its going to be a battle to stay in the premiership.
Congradulations to Ballyanne Sim, owner and trainer who I know well on winning the Irish Derby last night. The sire of the Derby winner is Confident Rankins whos mother Swift Rush is a repeat mating of the Top Savings litter. The day I went to pick up Too Breezy (grand dam) in my wildest dreams I never thought this line would create so much success. Well done to everybody.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT DRAGHBEG DUKE.
TONIGHT WE HAVE ONE RUNNER: COLLSWOOD HAWK AT CENTRAL PARK.
