Thursday 6th September:
Were doing Thursdays journal on Saturday morning as its been a hectic time at the kennels but all is going well. The first news is Swift Palmer had 11 pups to Farloe Blitz. She was in fantastic condition afterwards. Her pups are massive. Swift Foundry had 9 pups to Pat C Sabbath. We continued on cutting the hedges which is a bigger job than I thought. We also galloped few dogs. As normal there were supplies to collect.
WE HAD ONE RUNNER AT HOVE: SWIFT VICTORIA.
Wednesday 5th September:
Swift Hansel in what will proabaly be his last big final after being in 6 cat ones last year finally got his just rewards winning the three steps to victory final last night at Sheffield. It Anna Thompsons first group one winner. I spoke to her yesterday and she was nearly a nervous wreck. It will be Carl and George Broughtons first cat one winner as well. To be fair thats why were all in the game. Greyhounds can put you on the highest high but also kick you in the teeth and put you at a record low.
Back at the kennels we will continue on hedge cutting, trial at Kilkenny and collect supplies are all the main jobs today.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD TWO WINNERS LAST NIGHT AT SHEFFIELD SWIFT HANSEL IN THE CAT 1 FINAL THREE STEPS TO VICTORY AND CONEY SABELLA.
TODAY WE HAVE ONE RUNNER OLD FORT ELPASO AT HARLOW.
Tuesday 4th September:
Another nice day but a lot cooler. I got back with the fish last night and I've never seen as many roadworks as is going on in Ireland at the moment. They're building new roads everywhere. We continued on with the hedge cutting but we didnt have any van to collect the waste from the paddock so we cut the hedges at the entrance. Whatever happens today incase we get bad weather we will do the hedges at the top of the field in the last paddock.
The plans for today are to bath a few dogs, get bits and pieces in the way of parts for the vans and a service kit. There will be supplies to collect as normal. We might even go to the vets.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FOR RUNNERS AT SHEFFIELD: CONEY SABELLA, SWIFT DANESFORD, SWIFT MARVELETTE AND SWIFT HANSEL.
Monday 3rd September:
The weather is good and there is plenty to do. We have the Monday job of getting rid of our waste. We need food for pups, veg, yoghurts and I have to drive all the way to Kilybegs myself to collect fish as Kamil has to make boxes and beds for mothers and pups. Whatever happens we will get the hedges cut in the last paddock and change the bed. We hope to hunt and gallop as well. If we get it all done it will be a miracle.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE FIVE RUNNERS TONIGHT.
AT YARMOUTH: OH NONONO, COLLSWOOD HAWK, SWIFT GANGSTER AND OH ARMANI.
AT NOTTINGHAM: HAGGSWOOD RIVER.
Sunday 2nd September:
The start of another very busy week with absolutely loads to do. Whatever happens we will get the hedge cutting finished and the major tidy up done. We have dogs to school at Kilkenny on Wednesday and we need loads of supplies this week. Today will be a typical Sunday where we feed, cook, clean and let dogs out that are in kennels. Whatever happens when we get the journal done I must get myself some shopping. Newcastle United have one point from the first four games and they now have an easier run as they will be playing teams who will also be fighting relegation. We played a lot better against Man City but as normal no points.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT HENLOW: SWIFT DARTMOOR AND SWIFT WINDMILL.
