Retired and ladies no longer with us

Week starting on 16-Sep-2018

Saturday 22nd September:
Yesterday was a day where nothing went right. We went to Kilkenny to school and got away late as we had visitors with the derby weekend on. All the way to Kilkenny there were roadworks. Just after Castlecomer the road was blocked with an accident that just happened in front of us. I hope everybody was ok as it didn't look good. I decided to try and bypass it up a back road and ended off back in Portlaoise so we didn't trial. Swift Pacquaio had her pups and whatever went wrong four of them were dead. She probably had too many in the litter. Inbetween all of this I went into the bank to get the wages for the lads and the bank didn't have any money so if you see any of my staff in the pub over the weekend don't be frightened to buy them a pint. A whole lot of other bits and pieces also went wrong. This is the joys of breeding greyhounds and running a small business. Lets hope today is a better one and Newcastle United get their first win.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER AT ROMFORD SWIFT NIKOLAJ.
TONIGHT WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS AT PERRY BARR DEAHBEG DELISH AND DRAHBEG DUKE.

Friday 21st September:
We have had heavy rain overnight again but as we do the journal at 8am it has dried up. The main job today is handslipping dogs at Kilkenny for their first time. The way the weather is there wont be much more we can do other than the everyday jobs of cooking, cleaning, feeding and letting out.
