Retired and ladies no longer with us

Week starting on 01-Mar-2018

Saturday 3rd March:
The thaw started and a good bit of the snow was away by Saturday evening. The laneway is passable with great care and again it was another day for feeding, cleaning and letting dogs out. We didn't have any problems, we didn't lose power as a big part of Monasterevin didn't have power.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE ONE RUNNER AT DONCASTER: BRAMBLE RAFA.

Friday 2nd March:
We were completely blocked in with snow. We had strong winds during the night and the snow had drifted on to the roads. The snow was 6 foot deep on the lane to my kennels. It was even higher down the lane towards John Joes. By Friday evening the local farmers had cleaned local roads and a big thanks to Dennis Dogherty who towed us out. All we could do was feed, cook, clean and let out. I never seen snow like it.

Thursday 1st March:
We should be heading for summer but with the snow we have its more like winter. Ireland is just about at a standstill and anybody like myself who has animals, they still have to be cared for and fed. I'm lucky that Kamil and Miroush live in the flat and Padgie is stopping with me. Thankfully Conor only lives up the road, made it here after walking for an hour in blizzard conditions. Top men. All we can do today is clean, feed, let dogs out and try to move snow. Swift Eva who now lives in the house is running and checking on her pup even though hes about 16 weeks which I find uncanny. We somehow have to get to Nenagh to get the turbo swapped.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE TWO RUNNERS TONIGHT.
AT MONMORE SWIFT ACAPELLA.
AT HOVE SWIFT CASEY.
