Saturday 6th January:
Its a cold frosty morning so there wont be any hunting or galloping. We have a repair job to do on the freezer which with a bit of luck Kamil will do. We need boxes and carpets for broods going to have pups. There will be a bit of tidying up to do and bits and pieces to collect as normal.
Newcastle play Luton in the FA Cup so I will watch that from 3pm.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER AT NEWCASTLE BRAMBLE MILBURN. NO OPEN RACING TONIGHT.
Friday 5th January:
Its a mild morning but after today were in for another few days of very cold weather. The white van broke down yesterday. This time it was a miracle as it was only a fuse that came loose and it wouldn't start. We fixed it ourselves last night and its running like a bird again. We got every scrap of paperwork done as the plans had to be changed. Today the electrician has the last of his work to do and we have a little bit of tidying up. We will probably gallop and we will collect all the supplies we need. Hopefully we will get it all done. I've also just spoke to Ross Miles dog transporter and he has been stranded in England with the ferries off. I've also spoken to Irish Ferries and they're fully booked out for the next two days. Ross also said you cant get into the docks at Holyhead or the truck stop as there's that many vehicles.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAVE NINE RUNNERS TONIGHT.
AT NEWCASTLE: SWIFT REACTION, BRAMBLE MILBURN, BRAMBLE ALICJA AND SWIFT GABE.
AT CENTRAL PARK: JILLYPOPS.
AT ROMFORD: SWIFT AZTEC, MY MATE MAX, REARGUARD GIZMO AND SWIFT HERSILIA.
Thursday 4th January:
The weather is better than yesterday and the dogs that are sold all got away to the UK out of Rosslare harbour. We have a bit of trialling to do today and we have a massive tidying up job to do everywhere. We need a heap of supplies so we will have to get them all organised. We have visitors coming so its going to be a hectic day. Hopefully we will get everything done.
Wednesday 3rd January:
We have had storms overnight but thankfully no damage. As we do the journal at 7am its a rough morning but the forecast is for it to get better. The main job today will be trialling at Kilkenny. We have bits of maintenance work to do but I'm not sure if the electrician is going to turn up with the weather. We have hounds that are sold ready to go to the UK but I'm not sure if they will get away as the ferries aren't running to plan.
In the Premiership its just as well Newcastle beat Stoke on Monday as it has never been as tight at the bottom. I forgot to put on Mondays journal that we had 225 open race winners last year. 20 of them were open competition winners.
ON THE OPEN RACE SCENE IN THE UK WE HAD ONE WINNER LAST NIGHT SWIFT CLANCY.
TONIGHT WE HAVE ONE RUNNER SWIFT NADIA AT HARLOW.
